Jeden z údajných cílu Arséne Wengera Thomase Vermaelen připustil, že by si přestupem do Premierleague splnil svůj sen, ale zatím nedostal od Arsenalu nebo jiného anglického klubu oficiální nabídku.

Obránce Ajaxu Amsterdam zažil Holandsku velmi dobrou sezónu a jeho výkony vzbudili zájem Arséne Wengera, který je považován za fanouška belgického stopéra.

Vermaelen se k přestupovým spekulacím zatím nechce příliš vyjadřovat a má v plánu soustředit se pouze na své povinnosti v belgické reprezentaci, která se zůčastní  v Japonsku Kirin Cupu.
